Anapharm Europe is a GLP-certified and GCP-compliant bioanalytical contract research organization (CRO) based in Barcelona. The company was founded by its CEO, Dr. María Cruz Caturla, who holds a Master’s Degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D in Medicine.
In 1983 she started up a bioanalytical laboratory at the clinical pharmacology department of Sant Pau’s hospital in Barcelona. Later, in 1990, she initiated her carreer in the CRO business as head of the analytical chemistry department in a pre-clinical GLP compliant CRO in Spain.
In 1996, she set up her own bioanalytical laboratory with a team of bioanalytical experts. All this team has gathered valuable knowledge in drug metabolism, clinical trials and bioanalytical services becoming recognized bioanalytical experts across Europe. The international expansion was achieved in 2003 by establishing Anapharm Europe as a Joint Venture with SFBC-Anapharm. As a result, Anapharm Europe rapidly established itself as a leading provider of bioanalytical services. The Joint Venture was dissolved in 2010 allowing Anapharm Europe to continue its growth and development independently.
Since its creation and with a team of more than 30 years of experience, Anapharm Europe has become a world-class provider of high-quality bioanalytical services for the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and generic industry, thus contributing to the approval of many new drugs and earning a strong reputation among Regulatory Agencies worldwide.
In 2007, as a consequence of its expansion, the Anapharm Europe team moved into a brand new 1000 m2 laboratory facility strategically located in the 38 Business District in Barcelona, where it can be easily accessed from the airport as well as from the city centre.
Our experienced team of approximately 40 professionals together with our state of the art equipment and high throughput capacity is tailored to meet every specific client’s needs.
